Oh boy am I tired.  It’s 5:01 local time (1:01 SF), and I’m in my first hostel, Hostel Estoril, In one of the very nicer parts of town.  Definitely exhausted.  24 hours of flying will do that to you.  Flights went well, no problems.  

Funny story: first flight to LAX I was asleep almost the entire time.  Apparently I didn’t once recline my seat or pull down the tray table.  So I wasn’t disturbed when we were landing.  I woke up right as the plane was touching down, and for a few seconds had no idea what was happening and thought the plane was crashing.  Which was traumatizing if not hilarious.

Airline lost my bags, but they have all my contact info and will forward to my hostel asap.  Should be tomorrow.  Hope. 

Other than that things have been well.  I got into the hostel at 7 am and slept from 10 till just about now.  It’s a nice hostel, with a terrace bar upstairs, just wish it wasn’t raining.  It’s cold out, man.  Going to head out now, wish me luck.

Sf to lax Check

Was given the unholy wrong directions to the wrong terminal on lax, figured it out and made it in the nick of time.

Lax to panama On the plane. Language has mainly switched to Spanish. I’m working it out.

Next post probably in buenos aires in…12 hours or more.

In before the airport opens?! 30 minute wait to check in, 30 wait for security. Collective breath for being way early and trying to mellow.

Leaving 2:40 am! All good so far, except my big luggage bag is probably overweight! So scared so excited! Thank you mom and dad for this opportunity to grow and become a better person! - Mark.
